On March 20, Ambassador ISHIGAMI met with Col NAKAJIMA, the Commander of the Air Self-Defense Force's KC-767 aerial refueling and transport aircraft unit, and his team to offer words of encouragement on the occasion of their departure from the Maldives.
The team was on standby in the Maldives in response to the situation in the Middle East, to prepare for necessary actions for the transportation of Japanese nationals.
