Japanese Culture Session at Mohamed Jamaluddin School in Fuvahmulah City

On September 9 and 10, the Embassy of Japan in the Maldives organized Japanese cultural sessions at Mohamed Jamaluddin School in Fuvahmulah City. The school building was builtunder Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP), was officially handed over in October 2022.
This event was a great success with 270 participants including students and teachers.
At this event, students explored Japanese school life practices, such as cleaning, school lunches, and the daily duty system, which is designed to teach student life skills. The participants also learned about Japan's unique dining etiquette. The children were amazed to see Japanese students cleaning their school toilets.One of the highlights of the event was Japanese practical session such as calligraphy, Origami crane and chopsticks trial demo.
