H.E. Mrs. Ishigami Rumiko, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Maldives, paid a courtesy call on Honorable Uz. Ahmed Muthasim Adnan, Chief Justice of the Maldives, on February 24, 2025.
During the courtesy call, they reflected on the friendly relations between Japan and the Maldives over 58 years and reaffirmed the importance of human rights, democracy and the rule of law in the Maldives.
Chief Justice, Honorable Uz. Ahmed Muthasim Adnan expressed his gratitude for Japan's support for human resource development in the Maldives, including JICA's short-term training program for Maldivian legal professionals, and both agreed to continue to actively strengthen cooperation between Japan and the Maldives.
