H.E. Mrs.Takeuchi Midori, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Maldives, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, Minister of Foreign Affairs on October 3, 2024.
H.E. Mrs. Takeuchi congratulated H.E. Dr. Khaleel on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs. H.E. Dr. Khaleel welcomed her again since meeting her at his time as Minister of Health, and expressed his gratitude for Japan's support and contribution to the friendship relation and cooperation with Maldives over the years.
They discussed the promotion of further bilateral exchanges by high-level government officials and the coastal disaster prevention project on Male’ island, which was signed on 18th September. They shared the view that they would continue to actively strengthen the cooperative relationship between Japan and Maldives.
