H.E. Takeuchi Midori, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Maldives, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, H.E. Ali Ihusaan on December 12, 2023.
At the beginning, H.E. Ali Ihusaan expressed his gratitude for Japan's longstanding assistance to the Maldives and stated his strong desire for deeper and closer bilateral relations between the Maldives and Japan in coming years.
Ambassador H.E. Takeuchi expressed that the Maldives is an extremely important country for Japan as a partner which shares the idea of "Free and Open Indo-Pacific" (FOIP), and will continue to cooperate each other.
In addition, Ambassador H.E. Takeuchi explained about recent development assistance and upcoming ones by Japan, and discussed the issues of mutual interests in the relevant fields.
