10,000 surgical masks from friends of Maldives in Japan

       The Embassy of Japan in Maldives has handed over about 10,000 surgical masks from friends of Maldives in Japan to the Government of Maldives to help curb the spread of the ongoing epidemic, novel coronavirus 2019-nCoV. This generous donation was made by Japanese private companies, and first batch was handed over on 2 February, which was sent by Japanese private company Yamaki Co. Ltd., whose factory in Addu is working more than 4 years. The second batch was delivered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 4 February, 2020.

      The demand for face masks have skyrocketed in Japan since the outbreak of the new corona virus and H. E. Mr. Ahmed Khaleel, State Minister of Foreign Affairs, sent their sincere gratitude on behalf of the people of Maldives to Yamaki Co. Ltd and other Japanese companies for their generous donations.
