A pre-departure orientation for the JENESYS 2019 first-batch participants

     The Embassy of Japan in Maldives held a pre-departure orientation for the JENESYS 2019 first-batch participants on Thursday, November 21. The first-batch which will be held from November 25, 2019 to December 3, 2019 with the program’s focus on ‘agriculture’.
 
     JENESYS is an abbreviation of a ‘Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths’.  The Japanese government invited four high school students, five university students and 1 supervisor for the program.

     Addressing the orientation, the Ambassador of Japan to Maldives H.E. Ms. Keiko Yanai encouraged them to see, do and experience as much as possible during their stay in Japan.
 
     During their stay in Japan, four high school students and 1 supervisor will mainly stay in Miyagi prefecture which is one of the worst hit in Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011 and five university students will visit Nagano prefecture in central Japan. These students will visit program theme related sites, schools and universities. Each participant will experience a homestay at a Japanese host-family, too.
 
     The Embassy of Japan in Maldives wishes them to have a variety of experiences in Japan.
